https://drinkchamps.com/episodes/episode-130-w-pusha-t-drinkchamps/

Diss track was never mentioned and it was a "mutual" beef end. "Career ending" diss track was brought up after the conversation.

1-28 ish: greetings and Daytona track rundown

Kanye told him to pick 25 favorite albums before crafting Daytona

30 ish: About Meek Mill

Meek Mill did a song with Big sean and Push wanted in on it but Meek got locked up

J Prince had a conversation with Push's manager

Nothing aggressive about talks between two parties aka no goon threats (Prince and Drake with Push manager)

There was no mention of a diss track in conversations with Push's manager and Prince

After talks were concluded J Prince brought up "career ending diss" to the public

56 ish: When it comes to this beef gloves are off

57 ish: He expeted Drake to respond (Talking about what would happen after Infrared on some 4D Chess shit) so Push entered response mode "Leave women and children out" (To Drake maybe since he brought up Virginia Williams)

58 ish: About Drake Bringing up Virginia Williams

Push says it felt like a reach

Push knew about Sophie (Drake's baby mama) before Duppy

Skip until 1:03 they play loud music that didn't age well interlude

1:05 ish: Talk about Story of Adidon beat

Push had the black face picture a long time ago

Interviewer: "You had the picture before Infrared came out?", Push: "Yeah, I believe so"

Push didn't think J Prince would get involved

Push: "I don't got skeletons. I don't got nothing I'm ashamed of in this world"

Interviewer: "You ever fuck a fat girl?"

Push: "Come on bro!"

1:10 ish: What does Push think about Drake as an MC

Push doesn't like that Push's getting recognition as an MC because of the beef; he was putting in work before

Push thinks Drake is a rapper not an MC

  • They take a shot of vodka - host wants to pour a shot out
Lyric driven hip hop will never go out of style

1:14 ish: Push's legacy they talk about his 10 albums

They tryna get Push drunk! Shots going around and lighter clicks here and there

Push "How do you know if I wanna drink this?"

1:19 ish: McDonald's Jingle

Push wrote "I'm Lovin' It" but he took an L because he took the money up front now that marketing campaign is worth billions (McDonalds is worth $129 Billion in 2018 and they spent $2 Billion on advertising in 2017)

Push: "[that check might be nice], but keep your publishing"

Push later also wrote the Arby's commercial slogan and today owns a 40% stake in it

Push: "You live and you learn man"

1:21 ish: Bobby Brown and the cover of Daytona

Album was made in real time.

Twitter got the album art when Push got the artwork

Kanye "didn't feel it" on the original artwork

All happened on the day of the release

Kanye sent Push the artwork and Push didn't know what the artwork was supposed to be

When the artwork dropped to the internet Push's phone started blowing up (TMZ, gossip blogs, news reporters, twitter)

Even his mom hit him up "Yo I see you on... What's going on with the thing?!"

The people around him were more concerned with getting money

No Malice (5 years older than Push) was already popping in the area before they joined up

1:40 ish: About the name Clipse and the record "Grinding"

They're drinking and pouring more shots in the background before this topic.

Push didn't know Kanye was going through that

Push was raised in a "religious black household"

His household the term crazy carries a stigma

Push's great grandmother was an actual slave (lived to be 109 years)

The older generation like his great grandma seen more fucked shit and turned out okay so he didn't know much about mental health issues

In his mind a person with mental health issues was the bum living in the corner not someone who has everything like (AB and Ye)

Push is starting to understand more and is seeing the science of it

In his early years Anthony Bourdain supposedly did coke and heroin according to one of the hosts

Push said he never had a conversation before with drake

Host: "What happens if he (drake) says I wanna holler at you?"

Push: "You wanna holler at me...?"

Host: "You walk in the restaurant, Lionel Richie's in the middle, and Drake's on the other side... Do ya speak? ... Do ya give the head nod"

Push: "I don't got much to talk about man. I've got nothing to talk about"

Host say's its a black thing to give a brother a head nod

Push would not give Drake the head nod

2:23 ish: Farewell

2:24:14 and beyond has loud music that didn't age well

Lots of edits!

Updated while playing Hearthstone.

If I roped you it's because you spammed well played as Even Paladin.

Actually worth checking out as a podcast in the background if you're gaming, studying, or working.

The first 50 minutes too was very entertaining and insightful.

I wasn't typing up summaries at that point but still lots of cool info and bits.
