In der Werbung passt es, als einzelner Track völlig ungeeignet und weiß auch nicht wieso man das ganz releast.
 
Lässt sich irgendwie schwer einordnen, erinnert mich aber am ehesten an den Graduation-Sound.

Last week the Complex offices received a postcard containing a vague and cryptic reference to a possible new Kanye West project titled Kanye West's New Testament. Our research turned up a bare Twitter and Facebook page, and the origin of the Kanye quote on the back of the card, but not much else which led us to believe that it certainly wasn't viral marketing for a new album from the DONDA camp.

It turns out that Kanye West's New Testament is a mini-documentary of Kanye West quotes set to scary strings with a backdrop of scenery and popular events in sports and history. The 30 minute (!) documentary archives all of Kanye West quotes from 2013 to now, and will probably make you shed a tear. Kanye is obviously the star of the show here, as he goes from manic to instrospective with images of Muhammad Ali, natural disasters, baptism, statues and people doing motorcycle stunts. It's perfectly DONDA, and it is absolutely something Kanye would do.

The documentary is very well made considering how it was introduced last week, and whoever made it clearly took the rumors of Kanye releasing a full length spoken word album and ran with it. The idea seems funny and overblown at first, but the mix of Kanye's words and the music and imagery have us in a trance-like state. If you have 30 minutes to spare, check out the video above.

Im Gegenteil, er hatte die Isolation und das Fernbleiben aus dem Rampenlicht selbst gewählt, die Medien waren deshalb umso schärfer auf ihn.

Kanye West produced all over Grav's 1996 debut album, Down To Earth. Although he produced eight tracks, he rapped on "Line For Line" so it's worth highlighting. The beat doesn't feature the sped-up soul samples that would eventually become Kanye's signature sound in the early part of his career. Instead, the beat is rough around the edges, with a skittering drum pattern that lacks the polish of Kanye's later material.

Sehr nice ! Dann war Kanye da also 18, hat produziert und gerappt und dann hat sich das dann auch noch so gut angehört :D
Da merkt man schon sein Potenzial

keine frage, klar hat er gute dinger gemacht, aber jeder mensch/künstler muss wissen wann er zurücktreten muss, bei jerry lewis z.b. war der grund ein herzinfrakt.
 
dieser morbide, düstere und abgespacete touch vom album hat prduktionstechnisch auf jeden fall spuren hinterlassen bei musik von anderen. die message von den politisch und konsumkritisch angehauchten songs auf dem album hingegen hat nich so wirklich früchte getragen, finde ich.

“Send It Up” matters because it sounds like a fire alarm going off on the Death Star.

wenn ich ehrlich sein soll, fand ich das album auch schon immer zu perfekt. ich war nach dem ersten hören sogar recht gelangweilt, weiß ich noch. nach und nach hat es sich größtenteils zwar krass entfaltet bei mir ("devil in a new dress", "monster", " so appalled", wo king push rrrrrrasiert hat), aber bis heute seh ich nich ein, wieso es damals für manche direkt kurz nach release das krasseste album seit jahren war. es kam mir so vor, als wollten damals alle, die sich für geschmackssichere musikkenner hielten, wie bei nem wettbewerb unbedingt als erstes in die welt hinausposaunen, wie großartig das album is. mbdtf is johann sebastian bach als rap: hochglanz in musikform, zwar genial, aber eben mit durch und durch mathematisch konstruierter epicness und kalkulierter makellosigkeit.

für mich bleibt "late registration" immer noch sein bestes album.
