bester Pete Wrock beat seit Jahren - eventuell hat der einfach beats von 1998 gepickt?

Alter, das ist ein Rieseninstrumental, ein Pete Rock-Beat wie man ihn sich wünscht! Und hört sich tatsächlich so an, als würd er aus der "Soul Survivor"-Zeit stammen :emoji_ok_hand:
 
Der hat immer mal wieder nen guten Beat dazwischen - aber raptechnisch ist das schon arg blass.
Bei "How to make it through hysteria" denk ich mir jedes Mal, wie gut der Beat bei nem interessanten MC gekommen wär...

Die neueren Buckwild und Showbizsachen können ja noch irgendwie nachvollzogen werden - bei Pete Wrock beträgt der Unterschied aber Galaxien. Der Typ sitzt wahrscheinlich auf Irrheiten möchte jedoch nicht wreleasen. Lord Feinesse ist mindestens respektvoll ausjestiegen. Am transfer von altem Equipment in digitale Konsolen kanns wohl auch nicht liegen - siehe It's All Good.
Wieso passiert dit bei allen classicNewYorkern, während z.B. DJ Muggs, Madlib und Dr. Dre können?

Retropolitan includes 12-tracks, all produced by Pete Rock, with features from Styles P, Benny The Butcher, Conway, Westside Gunn, Elzhi, and Raheem DeVaughn.

It is more than an album of beats. & rhymes. It’s two generations of legendary native New Yorkers putting it down and pulling no punches. Skyzoo & Pete Rock use this album to create a love letter and a wakeup call to the city, as they have witnessed its culture stripped away layer-by-layer.

Super mixmaster...Mello, wie jesagt, ein neuer Garant für Dreck.

It's All Good klingt wie ein anderes Album bzw. Universum. UNGLAUBLICH, der Petel soll es endlich lassen. Dies wurde von mir schon am 16ten August auf dem bootlegughhding vorherjesagt. 3-4 gute Beats sind zu wenig. Skyzoo rappt eigentlich auf jedem Album das Gleiche gleich verschachtelt. In Erinnerung blieb da nur das colors Konzept, welches dann komischerweise auch aufm Elzhialbum war.
Das klingt fast alles oft so dünn wie irgendein fruity loops Müll.
Scheint als ob 3-4 alte beats bei sind. (all good, one time, vielleicht der mit Griselda) Der Griseldavocalmix ist trotzdem schrecklich.
Miles Davis ins Intro zu sampln geht auch nicht klar. Dafür ist allein schon Jay-Z huch ich mein Skyzoo zu räudig.

um es dann nach ein paar Durchläufen mit positivem Kommentar abzuschliessen:
eher auf Level mit dem SmokeDZAteil - die anderen Sachen Smif N Wessun etc. waren ja Vollkatastrophen.
