Ja gut, aber die Gorillaz sind ja von Haus aus animiert bzw. fiktive Comicfiguren. Dass das mit Menschen so gut aussehen kann war mir erst seit einer CNN Hologramm-Aktion mit Wolf Blitzer bekannt.
 
Eines der fettesten Konzerte, die ich je gesehen habe, auch wenn nicht live!
Snoop, Dre, Em, 50, Kendrik, Wiz, Kurupt und ein 2pac-Hologramm an einem Abend!

Ich hätte jetzt einige Videos posten können in denen man sieht, dass das schon sehr gut getroffen ist. Aber die Mühe mache ich mir nicht, glaubt doch was ihr wollt, ihr selbsternannten 2Pac Koryphäen :)

2Pacs Mutter hat sich zu der Sache geäußert:

A rep for Afeni tells TMZ, she was absolutely positively THRILLED with Tupac's virtual performance -- when he appeared alongside Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg during the headlining show at Coachella last night ... walking back and forth across the stage like he was actually present.

Afeni didn't attend the performance -- but we're told she watched it unfold live on the Internet ... but while it was thrilling, the entire experience was bittersweet.

The rep says Dr. Dre asked Afeni for approval to incorporate Pac into his performance -- and she said yes. As a thank you, we're told Dre made a donation to the rapper's charity ... The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

TMZ also spoke with Dre's crewmate Daz Dillinger -- who tells us, Nate Dogg was originally supposed to appear as a hologram as well, but the decision was made at the last minute not to use him. Nate got a video tribute instead.

“We worked with Dr. Dre on this and it was Dre’s vision to bring this back to life,” said Nick Smith, president of AV Concepts, the San Diego company that created the hologram. It was his idea from the very beginning and we worked with him and his camp to utilize the technology to make it come to life. You can take their likenesses and voice and … take people that haven’t done concerts before or perform music they haven’t sung and digitally recreate it.

The Tupac hologram was several months in the planning and took nearly four months to create in a studio and though Smith was not able to reveal the exact price tag for the illusion, he said a comparable one could cost anywhere from $100,000 to more than $400,000 to pull off. “I can’t say how much that event cost, but I can say it’s affordable in the sense that if we had to bring entertainers around the world and create concerts across the country, we could put [artists] in every venue in the country,”

klar, wenn man seit jahren mit alten tracks tourt, muss man sich doch irgendwas einfallen lassen um die hallen zu füllen.
