Kann mich irren, aber mir erschien das im Vorbeigehen wie die Hipsterfizierung von Noise, ähnlich wie beim Black Metal. Das Internet trägt da sicher auch noch seinen Teil zu bei. Fand aber den amerikanischen Ansatz was Noise angeht auch immer irgendwie halbgar, oberflächlich und komisch und sehr anders als die europäischen und japanischen Künstler.

Wenn die japanische Herangehensweise nun Merzbow, Masonna und so bedeutet, dann... ist das doch Harsh Noise, und mehr oder weniger dessen Ursprung?

Die Hipsterfizierung wäre Harsh Noise Wall, wo es auch ein sehr schönes Interview mit Vomir drüber gibt, der dazu die Manifeste schrieb, wobei sein Geschöpf ein toxisch-langweiliges Eigenleben annahm:

Habe endlich das Boris/Merzbow-Album gehört und finde, die beiden Stile ergänzen sich super. Eines der schönsten psychedelischen Rockalben, die ich kenne.
