VOICEMAIL
The biggest unintentional secret in Dancehall/Reggae music since SNOW is that the fluid sound you hear on tracks recorded by Voice Mail is not the singular range of one singer; but that of a group. A shared destiny and ambition has bonded these three singers: Craig Jackson, Kevin Blaire and Oniel Edwards together as one group. For the last 5 years, the three perfor-med as Voice Mail. Quickly becoming recognized for their intro trademark "You've got mail, Voice Mail!...Heyeee!", Voice Mail have been making waves in Jamaica with charting singles and their succession of videos. It’s their energetic stage performances, that fail to hide the enjoyment shining in their eyes from the pure pleasure of being in front of audiences at key events like: Spring Fest 2004, Sumfest 2004 and Fully Loaded, that are wining over critical audiences.
They have the right discipline, dedication and commitment to their craft. They could very well be the first strictly R&B fashioned Dancehall group to not only stay together but really make an impact.

Bremerhavener Nordhang. Einundsiebzig. Mmmh, ein guter Jahrgang, nicht nur bei der He-ringsernte. Die Welt-Metropole bringt in diesem Jahr ihren drittberühmtesten Sohn hervor. Einen ziemlich späten Renaissance - Künstler. Ein sehr frühes Kind der Generation X. Die Rede ist von "Mr. Acht-Finger-für-ein-Halleluja-und-die-Welt-ist-eine-Scheibe": DJ STYLE-WARZ! Natürlich haben 20 Jahre deutsche HipHopStory auch Gegenwart und Zukunft. Als offiziell anerkannter und schwerstbeschäftigter Battle-, Konzert- und Party-DJ sollte Style-warz wohl hier und da noch zu sehen und hören sein. Auch wenn er die gute, alte Originalität im DJ-Biz vermisst, fühlt er sich, dank guter, alter Kontakte, in der europäischen HipHop-Szene noch sehr wohl. Irgendein vermeintlicher Städte-Beef läßt ihn auf jeden Fall eiskalt.

In the packed confines of clubs around their hometown of Chicago and throughout the world The Cool Kids' irresistible, hooky rhymes and club cramming beats seamlessly bridge the old and new schools of hip hop while assuring them a sure-fire path to world-wide attention. In August 2006, under a year from their formation, the duo began performing at venues and par-ties around the city. They grabbed the attention of breakout DJs Flosstradamus. In March 2007 The Cool Kids joined Flosstradamus and other Chicago artists for a show at SXSW. The Cool Kids began grabbing the attention of national media. Impressed by their talents, DJ Ben-zi gave the duo space in a track entitled "Getting It". Early on The Cool Kids established their own "Creating Art for Kids Everywhere" recordings - the label under which the duo have written, record, and produced all their own music.

Mischt man dann noch einen Touch Sex, den da-zugehörigen Traumbody und das überwältigende Lächeln und Talent dazu, spürt man den Zauber von Ce’Cile – Jamaikas Dancehall „Bad Gyal“. Ce’Cile ist eine der wenigen Jamaika-nerinnen, die es geschafft hat in der Männer-dominierten Dancehallwelt in den Mainstream vorzudringen. Sie hat schon einige Hits auf Jamaika nachzuweisen. Mit ihrem an Girl Power strotzenden Album BADGYAL, schafft sie es nun auch sich auf die Bretter der internationa-len Bühnen zu katapultieren.
Sie nimmt kein Blatt vor den Mund und greift Themen auf, die von Frauen - in einer von Männern dominierten Szene – normalerweise vermieden werden. Ihre harten, ehrlichen Texte und die Bühnenpräsenz, bilden das Fundament ihrer Popularität. Sie bleibt ihren Prinzipien treu, indem sie singt was sie denkt. In ihrem Song „Do it to me“ fordert sie beispielsweise ungehemmt Oral Sex vom Mann - ein absolutes No Go in der karibischen Männerwelt. Collie Buddz is no stranger to the island. The music video for his break-out track Come Around was shot by Ras Kassa right here in Jamaica. In addition, he has constantly referred to Jamaica as the hub for his influence, and cites here as the influence for his music. He was born Colin Harper in New Orleans, but he was raised in Bermuda, and spent much of his time in Toronto Canada. With the mixed background, he was exposed to a wide variety of music, ranging from dancehall, to soca, to hip-hop. These three he held close, but settled comfortably into the dancehall world.
He recorded the Demo Track Come Around, and that sent his career in motion. The track has topped the UK charts, earned him a Sony BMG deal, and is a definite dance-stopper here in Jamaica. He recently released his self titled album, and is riding high with other tracks such as Mamacita, Blind To You, and What A Feeling. Armed with this flawless Reggae reputation, he is sure to deliver what Jamaicans have come to expect from Welcome To Jamrock…quality music.
