Vom zweiten Noreaga Album "Melvin Flynt - Da Hustler". Kp woher er den Namen hat.
Die ersten Noreaga Alben gehen vom Sound ziemlich in die Richtung des zweiten CNN - plus paar clubtauglichere Nummern (Neptunes). Das dritte fuhr noch stärker die clubbige Schiene, bevor er dann leider zum Reggaeton wechselte.

94 Tragedy Khadafi - TM (Message To Killa Black) (2001)

TK war schon in den 80ern aktiv, releaste 1990 und 1993 (noch unter dem Namen Intelligent Hoodlum) Alben und war bei vielen anderen Projekten involviert, mal eher im Hintergrund, teils aber auch sehr aktiv, zb auf dem ersten CNN Album mit 8 Features.
2001 lieferte er dann sein erstes Album als Tragedy Khadafi ab: Against all Odds.

Das Sample von TM kennt man natürlich vom 2 Jahre zuvor erschienen Terror Squad Hit Whatcha gon do.

93 Mobb Deep ft. 50 Cent - Outta Controll Remix (2006)

2005 signten MD bei 50 Cents G-Unit Records. Dass sich die Veteranen bei dem damals noch relativ neuen Rapstar quasi unterordneten war recht überraschend.
Der ""Remix"" vom 50 Hit Outta Controll war auf ihrem Album Blood Money (der Name hat mich immer gewundert, da das ja der Titel von Noreaga ist, genauso wie das Mobb Deep Album davor den Namen eines Spice 1 Albums hatte).

Nur ein Jahr nach War Report wich Nore schon stark vom CNN Sound ab mit dem Club Hit Superthug, einem der ersten Neptunes Erfolge (kurz davor hatten sie schon eine Top10 single mit Mase).
Mit Superthug stieg Nore sogar in die deutschen Single Charts ein.

Intro von Stillmatic.
Die Platte erhielt gute Reviews und er konnte ein wenig die "nach Illmatic kam nix gutes mehr" Kritiker zum Schweigen bringen.
Das war ohnehin totaler Unfug. It was written und I am sind absolut starke Alben mit Kajere Highlights, so bleibt nur der Ausrutscher Nastradamus. Und andere New Yorker wären froh, wenn sie mal 1 Album auf Nastradamus Level hinbekämen.

84 Screwball - Seen it all (2000)

Während sich die einschlägigen QB-Schwergewichte - Mobb Deep/Infamous Mobb/Noyd, CNN, Nas, Cormega, Nature, Tragedy Khadafi - ständig untereinander featureten, kam es nur selten zu Kollabos mit den ebenfalls aus den Projects am East River stammenden Screwball.

Die Crew ging au der Gruppe Kamakazee hervor und bestand aus Blaq Poet, Solo, KL und Hostyle, die beiden letzteren sind bereits verstorben.
Zwischen 2000 und 2004 erschienen 3 Screwball Alben, darüber hinaus auch Solo Werke.

Die Mitglieder sind teilweise schon seit den 80ern in der HipHop Szene von Queens aktiv, Blaq Poet war sogar schon in den Bridge Wars auf einem Track zu hören.

Seen it all ist von Premier produziert.

82 Tragedy Khadafi ft. Cormega - Break Bread (2005)

Zum 2005er Album "Thug Matrix" haute Tragedy auch eine DVD-Doku über QB und va sich selbst raus.
Dabei inszeniert er sich quasi als Übervater der Projects, von dem Nas genauso seinen Rapstyle hat wie Havoc seine Producer Skills und Noreaga seinen Swagger usw. Wirkt schon etwas verbittert.

80 MC Shan & Marley Marl ft. Capone, Cormega, Millennium Thug, Mobb Deep, Nas, Nature, Tragedy Khadafi - Da Bridge 2001 (2000)

Der MC Shan/Marley Marl Klassiker, der 1985 die Bridge Wars auslöste, wurde 2000 für den Nas Sampler nochmal neu aufgelegt mit jeder Menge QB Stars.

Auslöser für den Beef zwischen Queens (Juice Crew) und der Bronx (BDP) war damals die Wahrnehmung der Bronx-Fraktion um KRS-One, die QBler würden Queens als Geburtsort von HipHop darstellen. Allerdings muss man für diese Lesart das "it" in der Line Of how it all got started way back when/ auf HipHop im Allgemeinen beziehen, wobei es genauso für HipHop in Queens, die eigene Crew etc stehen kann.
Es folgte die Antwort 'South Bronx' und dann ging es hin und her zwischen der Juice Crew und BDP und weitere Rapper mischten sich ein. Auch der Mord an BDPs Scott La Rock soll mit den Bridge Wars zusammenhängen; er gilt als erster ermordeter HipHop Star.

Auch auf der 2000er Version gibt es einen kleinen Seitenhieb von Shan - The Bridge was never Over, we left our mark/ - angelehnt an den KRS Track 'The Bridge is over'.
2007 kam dann jedoch eine Kollabo von KRS und Marley Marl.
