Ziggi and his Renaissance Band:
Ziggi, born in 1981, is already quite known in his homeland thanks to the success of singles like ' My Head' and ' High Time'. His reggae is pleasantly contaminated with hip hop and dancehall.
Although Ziggi was born in Rotterdam, he spent his childhood and adolescence in the island of Saint Eustatius in the Dutch islands of Antille. Here, he' s enchanted by the sound of characters like Wyclef Jean, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Sean Paul and he begins to compose songs and to perform with the name of Ziggy, then to avoid misunderstandings with Ziggy Marley, like Ziggi.
In 2005, he moves back to Holland and begins to record with the producer Mr. Rough. The two singles, we have already named are worth him many radio and television passages, in homeland and the participation to various dancehall events.
In the same year he obtains a prestigious nomination to the MOBO Awards in England, he records in combination with Turbulence a new version of the well-known single ' Notorious', he duets with Elephant Man in ' Inna Mi Bed'. In February of this year he released his debut CD ' So much reasons' in which he collaborates also with the Germans ' House of riddim'.
The Renaissance Band is composed by musicians coming from Aruba and Suriname.
